James Pinto

Vicar

James has been vicar since September 2022. He’s married to Anna and they have 4 children. He first came to Norwich to train to be a teacher and fell in love with the city. He enjoys running, good coffee and getting to the coast. James loves nothing more than talking with others about the good news of Jesus.

John Price

Youth & Children's Worker

John has been at St Helen’s and St Edmunds since September 2023. He’s married to Kyla and has three kids. John is a firm believer that all good novels include either a dragon or a spaceship in them. You will often find him yelling at the TV whilst watching sport.

Hilary Jarrett

Voluntary Church Administrator

Hilary has been in Norfolk for 45 years and cannot imagine living anywhere else – give her big skies over mountains any day. She is relatively new to St. Helen’s & St. Edmund’s and is looking forward to opportunities to reach out into the community and share Jesus with others. Hilary worked as a staff nurse and a financial director in the family business. In her free time she loves walking, reading, cryptic crosswords and cooking. Hilary is married to Lewis, has a cat, two children & 10 assorted grandchildren and step grandchildren who keep her busy!

Kevin Payne

Church Warden

Kevin has lived in Costessey for 40 years. He is married to Helen, they have 2 children, 3 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild and a cat. Kevin is a semi retired electrician, enjoys singing & is a member of a rock and soul choir and a 5 piece singing band. He enjoys sport: mainly football and Formula 1. Kevin is looking forward to, in his role as warden, helping the church share the good news of Jesus in the local community.

Margaret Proudfoot

Church Warden & Licensed Lay Minister

Margaret has lived in and around Norwich all her life, and for the last 18 years has lived in Thorpe Marriott. She is married to Richard. She enjoys reading, and they both enjoy walking and travelling. Margaret enjoys watching programmes about hospitals, such as 24hrs in A&E (otherwise known as “blood and gore” programmes by Richard, who definitely does NOT enjoy watching them!). Margaret is also a Licensed Lay Minister.

David Thompson

Licensed Lay Minister

David retired from his architecture practice in 2014 and became involved in the refurbishment of St Stephen’s in Norwich. Moving afterwards to Costessey with his wife, Jackie, he began redeveloping their own home and garden (ongoing). This overlapped with being a Trustee of the Norfolk Wildlife Trust, reflecting his interest in wildlife, particularly birds. A deepening engagement in parish ministry (especially at St Edmund’s) has led to training as an LLM – an unexpected role, which was never on his ‘bucket list’. He enjoys being with his several grandchildren, who live nearby, doing projects, writing, and sketching.

Matt Moreland

Authorised Worship Assistant

Matthew has been an Authorised Worship Assistant since 2023. He moved to Norfolk with his wife Rebecca in 2015 and they have two children. Matthew teaches speech and language therapy students at UEA and works on pronunciations for dictionaries, but his big passion is helping the church grow together as a family.
